Mochi's Story

Looks Fancy. Loves Hard.

Mochi is a 3-month-old Chow mix with soft cinnamon fluff, thoughtful eyes, and the blackest tongue we’ve ever seen on a puppy this size. Classic Chow feature — and Mochi is representing proudly. When she opens her mouth it looks like she’s hiding a tiny piece of midnight in there, and we love it.

She looks a little prissy at first glance — perfect fluff, serious expression, dignified little presence — but Mochi is actually a total lover once she decides you’re her person.

She starts out observant, taking a little time to figure out who’s who, and then suddenly she’s right beside you like she’s been there all along. Mochi doesn’t make a big production out of bonding — she just quietly moves in and stays close.

Mochi has a calm, balanced kind of energy that makes her incredibly easy to live with. She’s happiest curled up beside you while you work like a tiny coworker who doesn’t contribute financially but offers strong emotional support. She settles beautifully indoors and only really gets excited when it’s time to go outside — where she turns into a happy little puppy for a while before coming back in and returning to her usual peaceful self.

She’s smart in the quiet way. Mochi watches first and figures things out before jumping in. You can almost see the gears turning. She doesn’t crash into life — she studies it first, then joins in.

Mochi grew up surrounded by other dogs after being rescued alongside a whole houseful of pups, and canine companionship is still her comfort zone. She does beautifully with different play styles and reads other dogs naturally. Because of that, we’d love to see her in a home with another friendly dog sibling — she shines brighter when she has a teammate.

She may start off polite, but Mochi bonds deeply. Not dramatic about it — just steady, quiet devotion that sneaks up on you until one day she’s following you from room to room like it’s part of her daily responsibilities.

If you’re looking for a calm, thoughtful little companion who will curl up beside you and stick close once she knows she belongs, Mochi is ready to clock in.

See more videos of Mochi here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL80kWIlZCtlQu8gX0G_WaiNVn4aDAiTPe

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application

+++++++

Mochi is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue. We have transports departing each week.

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — confident, connected, and deeply loved. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review it and reach out to set up an interview with one of our volunteers. If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
