Meet Mocha
This gorgeous girl is 7 years-young Mocha. Once you get to know this adorable little house hippo, you will see that she is quite the character! When she gets excited, she likes to spin in circles and you can often find her rolling around on her back. She loves a good treat and an even better belly rub! Who wouldn’t?!
Mocha’s story is an all too familiar one, having arrived at the shelter as a stray. She was found fending for herself alone in a field and appears to have been out on her own for quite some time. She has gone from being scared and unsure of her surroundings to being an outgoing sweet girl that happily greets everyone she meets. Mocha will shower you with kisses and her tail won’t stop wagging!
Mocha knows a couple of commands, which leads us to believe that she was once part of a family, but due to being on her own for so long and/or no other formal training, she’ll need a strong handler who can help her learn polite doggie manners. Mocha will also need some work on being around other dogs, as she’s currently too excitable and doesn’t understand boundaries, so she’d do best in a home without other animals or small children for now. Once she’s had some basic training and safe, appropriate exposure, there’s a good chance that with the right family, she’ll eventually do well with other dogs or kids.
