Meet Miz!

Miz is a beautiful 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix who is ready to find her forever home. Born on 2/22/2023, she’s grown into a playful, intelligent, and loving young adult. Her parents were roaming a woman’s property before Miz and her siblings were born, and while her early beginnings were humble, Miz has blossomed into a confident and energetic dog with so much love to give.

Miz has been raised in a foster home where she has been exposed to children and other dogs. She thrives in the company of canine companions and would do best in a home with at least one other dog to help her stay social and engaged. While we don’t have a history of how she interacts with cats, her shepherd instincts make her a highly trainable and eager-to-please companion. Miz has made progress on her house and crate training and is eager to continue learning in her forever home.

As a Shepherd mix, Miz embodies many of the traits that make this breed so beloved. She is smart, energetic, and naturally protective. It is important for her new family to have knowledge or experience with herding or working breeds. Miz will need consistent training and socialization throughout her life to ensure she grows into a well-rounded adult dog. While she has already started her journey, continued mental and physical stimulation will be key to her happiness. A simple walk won’t be enough for this active girl; she needs a job to do and a family willing to engage her curious and lively mind.

Miz’s ideal home would include a fenced yard where she can safely run and play. An apartment setting would not be suitable for her energy level and need for outdoor activity. Her new family should also have a plan for providing both physical outlets and mental challenges to keep her fulfilled. A structured routine, plenty of exercise, and ongoing socialization are vital for Miz’s development into adulthood.

This sweet girl is not recommended for first-time dog owners. While her loving eyes and adorable face may pull you in, Miz needs a family that understands the lifelong commitment required for a working breed.
