Meet Miss Hazel
Very Sweet Girl
Hazel is a gentle, sweet, and playful, 1 year old female. I found her on a street in south San Antonio during the period of heavy storms, in April of this year. She was underweight and malnourished, but is now in good health. She is 65 lbs and will still to put on some more.
Initially, while walking she was wary of cars. However she’s now only uneasy when loud or fast cars and trucks drive by. She’s generally easy going on walks and enjoys saying hello to people, children and other dogs. I’ve can’t say enough about her sweet nature. Her new family should be mindful that she still has a lot of puppy-ness, and like a puppy, is curious of her surroundings, loves to chew and needs lots of exercise. Thus re-directing her with toys, chewies, treats and positive reinforcement are important for a happy household.
She is crate trained and house trained. She even stands next to the door when she needs to 'potty'! She’s learning commands like “heel”, “stay” and “come”, but reinforcement and practice are needed. She’s a quick learner and motivated by treats which have certainly come in handy. She'll love a back yard where she can run and play!
Miss Hazel would make a wonderful companion. If you'd like to adopt her, please email us at info@hhsanimals.org ***Ask us about how to receive $100 worth of free pet training when you adopt Miss Hazel! ***
