Mina's Story
**Introducing Mina!** She is believed to be a mix of German Shepherd Dog (GSD) and Malinois. Weighing around 50 pounds, she is petite in stature but overflowing with a vibrant personality. Almost 2 years old, Mina has been charming us since she was about 4 months of age. Finding homes for strong breeds is not easy. Mina is true to her breed, she is exceptionally intelligent and eager to learn, happy to please, and near perfect. Mina is active outgoing, and social.

We have dedicated and prioritize socialization ensuring that Mina leads a well-rounded life. Daily exposure to various experiences has been crucial in helping her develop strong social skills and preventing the common people's anxiety, stranger danger behaviors that most Shepherds and Malinois experience. She has been raised harmoniously alongside dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, as well as with cats, rabbits, and farm animals. Her delightful interactions with birds, turtles, and other wildlife have allowed her to flourish in diverse environments. As we nurture her sweet and strong-willed nature, she continues to blossom into an even more perfect companion.

Mina presents as a sweet beta figure in her social circle, finding joy in being a follower within a pack. She thrives in a balanced, active, and playful environment led by knowledgeable and consistent humans. Her sociable demeanor makes her exceptional around children of all ages, and she engages warmly with both men and women. While she has a gentle, outgoing disposition, she is a happy social butterfly. She is active without being overly hyper, but to maintain her balanced nature, ongoing training is essential. We keep her healthy mentally and physically.
When it comes to walks, Mina is generally well-behaved on a leash, although she may exhibit some excitement and uncertainty in unfamiliar situations. This reinforces the need for continued support from her future adopters. As a working breed, she requires socialization and training, but she also enjoys peaceful moments of relaxation. Mina has a zest for life—she loves toys, daily walks, playgroups, outdoor adventures, car rides, and daily training sessions. Highly motivated by treats, toys, and praise, she thoroughly enjoys the learning process. And being easily motivated, she's eager to please, training comes easily, and is fun.

Moreover, she is an affectionate cuddle buddy, making her the perfect companion for cozy movie nights. Mina adores swimming, splashing around, and exploring nature trails—she absolutely thrives when engaging in active pursuits like running alongside a bicycle. With ongoing love and training, she’s well on her way to becoming a cherished family pet.

Mina is completely house-trained and crate-trained and excels in off-leash recall.

**All Adoptions Include:**
- Spay/Neuter procedure
- Rabies vaccination (offered with 1 or 3-year options)
- Comprehensive core vaccinations, including Leptospirosis and Coronavirus (available for 1 or 3 years)
- Negative heartworm test
- Monthly prevention for heartworm, fleas, and ticks
- Negative Lyme disease test
- Deworming and negative fecal test
- Completion of all necessary testing within the last 6-12 months
- All age-appropriate medical needs addressed (blood work, dental check-ups, testing, and medications)
- Lifetime microchip registration with free unlimited updates
- A recommendation to feed a high-quality protein diet

**Adoption Processing:**
- The review of adoption applications can take up to three weeks.
- A minimum of two meet-and-greet sessions with Mina are required before adoption.
- A home inspection will be conducted.
- Out-of-state adopters are welcome at their own expense.
- We DO NOT ship our adoptable pets.
- Adoption fees are payable at the time of adoption.
- No money exchange or requests are required before adoption.
- Payment plans are not available.

**For Former AHRS Adopters:**
- A donation of your choice is appreciated, but no formal adoption fee is required; your generosity is valued.

Training is an ongoing journey that requires daily attention; new challenges and opportunities for learning arise routinely and should be embraced.
