Meet Mimi

Mimi is about 6 years old in August of 2017 and weighs about 15 pounds. She is NOT a purebred Poodle. Her hair is grown out now, so she looks different then this picture. She has had her teeth cleaned in January 2016. She ended up at a shelter with her 1 week old pups in July of 2013. Other rescues were turning her down because of several reasons. One is that she was abused big time and was very scared, she is literally afraid of her own shadow and the other is because she has Luxating Patella. She runs and plays and it does not need to be fixed. She is not in any pain. In the past 5 years of her being here with me, she has fallen in love with me, so I know she could fall in love with someone else. She is a fear biter and will run up to someone she doesn't know and bite them. She is an extremely scared dog and WILL NOT WALK ON A LEASH. You also will not be able to take her out, she does better staying home and playing with other dogs. She needs the most perfect home, with no kids. Someone who will win her trust and have patience with her. Someone who will spend the majority of their days with her. She will sleep with you in your bed or on the floor in her bed but if you walk past her she will get up and leave. She is totally potty trained using a doggy door. She is a very timid dog and gets along really well with little dogs. One of our requirements is that whoever is interested in adopting her must be a stay at home person, also you must have another little dog, as she will miss the ones here and it will be too devastating for her to leave here and not have one of her own to be her friend. If you think you can be the home and are willing to commit to her, call Marilyn at 209-956-3004. Please do not call unless you can commit.

There will be a phone interview and a screening process. As I will want to make sure that you are the right person for the particular pup, you will also want to make sure I am the rescue you want to do business with. My references are the Better Business Bureau, Lodi Animal Shelter, Pals in Lodi, Ca, Pacific Veterinary Hospital in Stockton,Ca, Vineyard Vet in Lockeford, Ca. You can also read about my accomplishments in the notes on my Pups Rescue Facebook page

YOU MUST CALL FIRST, SENDING AN EMAIL FIRST, WILL DELAY THE ADOPTION PROCESS. You must be at least 25 years old to adopt a puppy from this organization. I do not adopt puppies out to families with toddlers and that could be the reason why I will not return your call. Another one of our requirements is that whoever is interested in adopting a pup, is the one who will stay at home with the new pup and the one calling. Also, we do NOT ship puppies anywhere, you will be expected to come to us to adopt from us. Pups Rescue's adoption fees range from $300-$400. Please leave a message, as all calls are screened. This is a residence, please call between 9 A.M.and 9:00 P.M.
