Meet Milo Freeman

Meet Milo!

Precious 17-year-old Milo was entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program on June 20th following the unexpected passing of his mom. She was stricken while preparing to take Milo for a walk, and he was by her side as it happened.

Milo and his mom were inseparable companions, and their favorite activities included leisurely strolls and curling up in bed to watch tv together.

We're honored to have been entrusted with finding Milo a loving home-one where he will be cherished just as he has been for his entire life. Could that special home be yours?

Coming to FFF has understandably been a big adjustment for sweet Milo, and he is feeling the absence of his mom's love and presence deeply in a setting so unlike anything he has ever experienced.

Thankfully, Milo is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling with a dedicated volunteer who noticed he was struggling to adjust. She shared this update:

"Milo and I have been hanging out for a few days, and here's what he's shown me so far.

Milo is independent - As of day 3, he is not appearing to be a velcro dog, but lately I have noticed him watching me a bit more. I think with time, he'll want to know where you are and follow you, but not so much so that he'll be underfoot.

He appears to be a quick learner. He's already learned the lay of the land here: he knows where both water bowls are, all his bed options and is figuring out his favorite spots to nap or watch what is going on.

Great news - Milo is totally fine with cats! I have two, and he's been nose to nose with them . Aside from a few sniffs here and there, he shows no interest.

Milo is unphased by my big dogs. Given, my two 80-lb pups are gentle and calm, and mostly keep to themselves so I feel safe having a little guy like Milo around them. We also know he does well with small dogs - those are his usual roommates when on site at Frosted Faces Foundation.

When he's not snoozing, Milo enjoys exploring both the house and backyard. He does need a little supervision outside-he tends to follow his nose straight into the bushes.

His vision seems pretty good. He doesn't run into things, but he does have trouble with depth perception. Stairs will need to be gated - Going up stairs is ok.

Milo is getting more comfortable with each passing day. He's nice, gentle, and an easy dog. He needs love and patience while he adapts to losing his mom, but I know without any doubt he will learn to love again in his second home. He's already showing that here."
