Meet Milo

Please read our Core Values prior to applying at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations.

Update 2/11/2023. Now a little over a year old, Milo is a handsome boy and full of curiosity and fun. He is a nice size, easy to handle at about 35 pounds. He has plenty of energy and loves to run and play, is very comfortable with other dogs and enjoys their companionship. Because of this, we are looking for a home with a confident, resident dog who will play with Milo. One of his favorite things to do is to look for hard toys and bones in the house, and he will spend time licking and chewing them. Milo loves human attention, but he’s perfectly satisfied to entertain himself. He can be shy in new situations, so will need time to get to know you and adapt to his adoptive home, but once that happens, he will share his loyalty and devotion. Milo enjoys going for walks, running and playing in the yard, loves following a routine, and needs a home where his family will be patient with him as he adapts. A sweet boy, looking for his energetic forever family.

Update 7/4/2022. Milo, a.k.a. Huckleberry Pie which was his name at the shelter, is now eight months old and still waiting for a home of his own. He is a sweet pup, and would love to find a home where he is the center of attention. He weighs about 30 pounds now, and is making progress with training. Plus he’s quite handsome to look at on the outside, and just as precious on the inside. He would be a great addition to a family looking for a best friend. Please take the time to meet him!

Posted 3/25/2022. Milo and his two sisters, Madison and Molly Mae, were dropped off at a shelter in January by a man who said he found them on his property. The dog warden thinks they were his own pups and he no longer wanted them because they were very ill. They were malnourished, had flaky skin and were weak and unhealthy. Fortunately they received good care and through the following six weeks were able to overcome the difficulties they faced in their early lives, now are bouncing bundles of joy, full of energy, curiosity, and love. They are probably spaniel/hound mixes and are about five months old. Milo is short haired, a handsome brown puppy with lots of spirit and energy. He likes to think that he is the top dog in the family, but his sisters often have something to say about that. He weighs about 15 pounds and interestingly enough has a cropped tail. His ears stand up when he is excited or curious about something, and he looks very sweet, cute enough that his humans want to hold and cuddle him constantly. He holds his own with the bigger dogs in the house, and is very playful and full of fun. He likes people, including children. He sometimes tries to steal his litter mates’ toys, but gives in to them more often than not. A typical puppy and a very happy little boy. Milo needs continued training and care so is looking for a home where family members are not away more than four or five hours total in a day. Milo also needs a family who will provide lots of exercise, not only with yard play but also off-property walks and hikes. He is an energetic puppy who needs an energetic human by his side! He has lots to learn so obedience classes are a must. He would also love a home with another canine friend. Please consider everything owning a puppy entails from training, vet care to lots of exercise.

Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Contact generalinfo@furryfriendsnetwork.com for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process.

Foster Homes are desperately needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. To find out more about becoming a Foster Parent, see our website at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under VOLUNTEER tab.

As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.

In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.
