Meet Milo! Milo is a STUNNING, 2-ish year old bully. Even though he weighs about 80 pounds, Milo is full of nothing but love! He was rescued from a rural county shelter's death row, on the day he was scheduled to be put down. Even though he was dumped by his "humans" in a high kill shelter, heartworm positive, underweight, and suffering from skin allergies- he still ADORES every person he meets. That is only one of the many things that makes Milo such an awesome companion.
Since being rescued from death row, Milo has been fostered by the owner of a doggy daycare. He spends half the week with her at her house & the other half at the kennel. Milo is potty and crate trained. He is a bit awkward when it comes to meeting new dogs (you can tell he was not socialized much as a puppy), but ALL he wants is to play! He has never acted aggressive towards another dog, but since he is recovering from HW treatment- he does not get to play outside or with other dogs as much as he would like. In a few months he will be retested to ensure that the HW treatment was successful. If he tests negative, he can play for as long as his big heart desires!
Milo would be a wonderful hiking or jogging buddy. He loves going on walks and seeing what the world has to offer. He is a young, active dog. A home with a fenced in yard would be ideal, but not required. But understand that Milo deserves a home with time to dedicate to ensuring he stays active. He will need at least an hour of exercise a day! He is well-behaved, but he is young and pits are active breeds. He does not deserve to be cooped up all the time. Especially after all he has been through!
Milo is neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped, and no longer has any skin issues (it was caused by flea allergies). He has gone through heartworm treatment and has two more months of taking it easy (his heart rate can not get too high while the HWs are being killed or he could have complications) and then he will be ready for action. He is available for immediate adoption. His adopter will just be responsible for bringing him to our vet in two months to be retested for HWs.
