Say hello to Millie! After being saved from a life of being used as a breeding dog for a puppy mill, this sweet girl is looking for a new forever!

When we picked Millie up, we were told that they thought she was around 8 years old. It's obvious that they knew nothing about her. This girl has perfect teeth, doesn't have a grey hair in sight, and is bouncy and playful which makes us think she's closer to 4 or 5.

We won't tell you where she was living, but we can tell you that it was a place that has no electricity (we're sure you can guess). It has been fun to watch her transition to a warm, safe place where people love her. We have learned that she likes to watch TV and will lay in her dog bed and stare at the screen. She has also discovered toys and will often carry a stuffed one around in her mouth. Millie will keep you laughing as she discovers new things - like her reflection in the mirror! She is completely housebroken and will go to the door when she needs to go out. She is also crate trained and is content hanging out in her crate while you are at work. She will be very wiggly and excited to see you when you get home! At night, Millie sleeps quietly and soundly in a dog bed on the floor next to your bed. Sometimes she lightly snores - but we love that. It's the sweet sound of a dog that knows they are safe.

Millie is as sweet as can be and loves people. She will follow you around and loves having her ears scratched and her belly rubbed. She also likes to sit next to you on the couch and watch tv once she gets to know you. She lives with two other dogs at her foster's house and gets along great with both of them. She loves to play, and is great at taking cues from other dogs. When another dog is done playing, she entertains herself with toys and Nyla bones. We thing she would benefit from having another dog as a friend. We haven't seen her around cats, so if you have a cat we would want to set up a meeting to make sure she wouldn't try to have it as a snack. We think she might be curious.

Millie is a sturdy girl, weighing in at a whopping 85lbs. We don't want to body shame her and hurt her feelings, but she will need to lose some weight. We have her on a diet and exercise plan (just a reduced amount of food and a walk) and she's already seeing success! Speaking of walks, she loves to go for walks! She does pull on the leash some and will need to work on her loose leash walking skills. When she's not on a walk, she likes to wander around the house and explore, wander around the fenced in yard, sit in the sun, play with toys and take naps.

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

All our dogs have been treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption.
