Meet Millie
Meet Millie, an approximately 2.5-year-old, 55-pound, female, Pitbull mix who was born around May 2019. She became a Misfit when she found herself in a local shelter after suspectedly being hit by a car. She had damage to her right rear leg, but the damage was, thankfully, fixable. She had two major surgeries and a long and painful recovery consisting of lots of boring kennel rest. She is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
Millie does not have any major special needs. She just needs to be careful playing too rough with her previously injured leg.
Millie is kennel and house trained. She loves treats, so she learns well with treats as motivation. She is leash trained and rides best in a kennel in the car.
Millie lives in a foster home with other dogs of differing sizes and energy levels with no negative interactions noted. She has only seen cats from afar, but we do not believe she would be a good fit in a home with them. Millie would be great with kids, but might need to be watched with smaller children since she’s a little bigger and could accidentally knock them over.
Millie went through a lot during her recovery, but she was terrific about it! Now that she is healed up and can be free to roam the house and yard, she is showing her true colors – playful!! However, when wrestle time with another dog is over, look out lap, here she comes! Millie has so much love and devotion and entertainment to offer. Anyone adopting her would be lucky to add her to their family!
