Meet Millie

Millie is a STUNNING German Shepard mix, who is about 14 weeks old. She was the last of her litter, born and raised in a cage outside.... luckily, a volunteer was able to rescue her and she has been settling in at her foster’s house.
Millie is very active, she would do best in a home with a yard & one or more dogs to keep her company. She is WAY better behaved when she has another dog around.
MILLIE IS NOT AN APARTMENT DOG. SHE WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO A HOME WITH A YARD AND AT LEAST ONE OTHER DOG. IDEALLY A FENCED IN YARD, BUT NOT REQUIRED.
Millie is learning potty training. She is currently in a foster without a yard, making it difficult to train her properly.
Millie is adorable and full of potential, but she is also a mix of high energy breeds. She is motivated by attention (even more than food), so whoever adopts her needs to know that they will have to put in time & effort to mold Millie into the adult dog they want.
We can not stress enough how much happier/easier to train Millie is when she has another dog around. Although we do NOT adopt dogs out as “outdoor” dogs- Millie will definitely be the type of dog that prefers spending a lot of time outside. Especially if she has a friend to romp around with! That is why a yard is required. But just to be clear- she is not going to a home where she will be kept outside 24/7. She’s a family member, not a yard ornament.
We are hoping someone with GSD experience will apply for Millie. If you’ve owned a GSD in the past, you understand what we mean when we say she is going to need consistent training. By no means is Millie a bad dog, in fact- she is a GREAT dog. She just needs to be in the right environment.
If you’re interested in Millie please email vols4paws@gmail.com for an application or use the one on our website:
https://vols4paws.wixsite.com/vols4paws/applications

Millie will be spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped, dewormed, & on preventatives when she is ready for adoption. Millie can not be adopted until after her final vet appt. & spay appt. which will be approximately Dec. 25th. She does need a foster in the mean time. So if you’re interested in adopting her, go ahead and apply. If your app is approved and you’re interested; we allow potential adopters to foster before finalizing the adoption (can’t be done until she’s spayed). This allows you to see how Millie fits in to your home with no strings attached. If you would like to foster her, simply make a note of it when you send in your application!
