Millie's Story
Millie | Pit Bull Terrier Mix | DOB: 05.01.2022 | 45 pounds | Kid Friendly | Only Pet |

Dear Doggy Diary,

Today I curled up on the couch and watched TV with my foster mom. She kissed my nose (my favorite thing), and I made one of my weird little faces and quirky noises that always makes her laugh. I love making humans laugh. It’s hard to believe that, I once lived in an overcrowded, loud shelter and only had one day left. One day. That’s all I had before everything would’ve ended.
It all started when I was found as a stray with another dog. The shelter gave us three months to find a home, but no one came. Just when I thought my story was over, Lucci’s House showed up like a miracle. They saved me and I went to live with my foster Mom. At first, I was scared and timid. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But within 24 hours of being in her care, something inside me lit up. I started to feel safe. I started to feel...me.

I’m still learning. Ok, yes, when I get excited sometimes, I jump. I’m working on it. And not that I’m biased but I have gotten much better than I used to be! I’m a smart girl who listens well. I’ve also learned lots of tricks. I admit my time on the streets are hard to forget sometimes, so I get nervous around new things in the house. I’ll either jump back like a ninja or sniff it like Sherlock Holmes. Oh, and I still haven’t met any cats, but who knows maybe I will someday. I wonder if I would like to live with one? Maybe or maybe not. I know I had a dog buddy on the streets but I don't think I would want to live with one anymore. I guard my special things like treats, toys, and food from other dogs. Even though I feel safe and loved now, it’s just so hard to forget what it was like to never know when I’d get special treats like these again. What I do know is I just love living with people — men, women, kids. But between you and me I like older kiddos better. They understand that sometimes I just have to get my zoomies out at torpedo speed.

Doggy Diary, I love my foster Mom but I still yearn for someone to follow around and love with my whole heart for the rest of my life. I have to believe I will find that someone soon, come on I make quirky noises, learn tricks fast, and give the best cuddles in the world. I’m a 45-pound silky-soft kissing machine. Someone out in that great big world has got to want me forever.
Hopefully the next time I write to you it will be to tell you all about life with my forever family.

Love,
Millie
