Meet Miller

Name: Miller
Nicknames: Mill-Mill. Chewy. Chewbacca. Benji. Jaws.
Breed: ‘Lil fluffball
Weight: 18 lbs.
Sex: Male
Age: ~6 Years
Before OMD: Surrendered to the rescue’s care when his owner passed away.
Energy Level: Low-Medium. He enjoys running around and a good walk, but he’s also happy to hang around the house playing with his toys.
Catch phrase: It’s Miller Time!
Descriptors: Inquisitive. Friendly. Funny. Playful. A balance of independent and attention-seeking.
Lapdoginess: Lower. Don’t get us wrong, he’s very sweet, but he’s not thrilled to snuggle or be right on top of you. Next to you is much better, preferably while you’re actively petting him. He also makes for a good foot-warmer.
So where does he sleep: Under his bed…in his man cave.
What we love most: How he taps his paws when he’s happy. How he is so excited to see you and follows you around everywhere ( he’s not very stealthy, because those tapping paws often give him away).
What makes us laugh: When he flings his toys up in the air to entertain himself. When he smooshes a squeaky toys against you so it makes the perfect squeak sound. When he showcases his downward dog yoga poses.
What he loves most: Food. Toys. Pretending he is the mayor during his daily walks, greeting his constituents.
We’re nothing if not transparent: He has been spotted eating his poop from time to time. He resource guards high-value items and can be fresh (read: will try to bite) if you try to take something away that he determines is high-value. He doesn’t always love when a stranger immediately goes to pick him up.
Kids: Older kids only please (12 plus) as he resource guards, has not been socialized with kids much, and he isn’t one to be smothered.
Dogs: He was the only dog in his original home. He has since been around a number of dogs in his foster homes. He likes many, and doesn’t like others. His preference seems to be smaller dogs, and he can’t share toys or food.
Cats: No problem
House trained: 100%
Crate trained: Sure is, but not necessary. However, if you do leave him out, you may come home to some items missing around the house which can be found in his aforementioned man cave.

Miller is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and surrounding states. If you are interested in adoption, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.
