There are moments in rescue that you come across a dog that has experienced unfathomable cruelty. Your heart breaks at the thought of what all she has experienced in her lifetime. But she is a survivor - a sweet, but shy girl who only wants to know love. And love is what we shall find for her!

This beautiful survivor is Miley - a 7 year old Collie/Terrier mix who weighs 43.6 pounds. She experienced extreme violence and trauma in her life when a cruel human attacked her with a machete - causing the scar above her eye. Despite this cruelty, Miley is a super sweet and affectionate lady! She may be a little shy at first, but she has come so far in her time at Wish Bone and it doesn't take long for her to be your best friend! Miley is loyal to her people an eager to please!

She gets super excited to go for car rides and really loves her walks! This little social butterfly enjoys meeting humans and dogs during her outings and will wag her tail with excitement when she sees them. Miley is a big fan of stuffed toys and can entertain herself with them. She's in a foster home with a large, young male dog and has the best time playing with him! Despite being several years older than him, Miley initiates play several times per day.

Miley requires a secure fenced yard and supervision during yard time. As one can imagine, she can be nervous about new situations and she will look to her person for encouragement. We do believe that she will do best in a quieter home, with kids over the age of 13 years.

Her foster parents shared "Miley is a very sweet, loving dog. She is very playful with toys and other dogs. She is a huge snuggle-bug and loves to give kisses! Miley rarely barks, unless she is excited." They say that Miley is highly intelligent and that she listens very well - she's submissive with her people. While Miley does well in a crate, her foster parents believe she could be trusted without one, but they've never tried leaving her out when they are gone. They said "She is a wonderful dog. She has a lot of life and spirit left in her!"

Her minimum adoption fee is $275 plus a $12 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
