Meet Mikki & Maggie!

Mikki & Maggie are an adorable senior bonded pair. The owner of these sweet girls had to go into assisted living and they could not follow. Now they are looking for a new forever home where they can stay together.

Mikki (white with grey spots, 11 years old, was given a dental, bath and shave down while boarded waiting for rescue.  She is a little hesitant at first and is always worried about her older sis, Maggie. However, after a few minutes of quiet talk and treats she becomes more interested in you.  She is a Terrier mix and shows interest in the birds and cats at her foster's home but just curious.  The cats are dog savvy and she may chase a cat if they were skittish around her, but she's very willing to understand NO.  Does well with the small dogs that live with her currently.   She is house trained, and walks well on a leash.  She would probably be fine around respectful children, she's never been in a bad mood at her foster home.  She is energetic and likes to be in constant motion, exploring the house, going up and down stairs trying not to miss anything.  She barks only if she sees someone near the property and will stop once you are aware of the 'danger'.  She loves to cuddle, curious about toys, she is a wonderful girl.

Maggie - 

Maggie (black) is bonded with Mikki.  Maggie is a 17 years young chihauhau mix but it's hard to guess her age.  She loves to move around and explore the rooms in the house.  She has to practice steps, but can get the hang of going down, up is fine, but should be supervised.  She is very sweet.  She follows Mikki around but will stop and rest on cushy beds or blankets.  She has the typical back leg weakness and an anti-inflamatory pill handles that well.  Otherwise, her bloodwork and physical condition is that of a 12 year old, she had a complete dental prior to rescue.  Maggie is very quiet, never makes a sound.  She walks on a leash and is housetrained when taken outside otherwise she will use a pee pad.  She gets along fine with dogs, cats or birds, sniffs and moves on.  She would also be fine with repectful children.  She likes massages and attention.  She amuses herself and would make a great companion pup.  Plenty of pep in her step!
