Hi there! If you are looking for a devoted little friend to keep you company morning and evening, my name is Midnight and I am the sweet little fellow for you! I am an 8-year-old Shih Tzu mix and at 15 pounds I am the perfect size to snuggle up in your lap, which just so happens to be my favorite place to be! I have soft black fur, and my silly smile that highlights my underbite will make you laugh and laugh! My looks match my personality perfectly: sweet and silly, that’s me!

Fetching Tails Foundation saved me from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where my previous owners left me because they said I was old and stinky! I can't help it that I just needed a bath and a fresh haircut! Thankfully the kind volunteers from Fetching Tails were at the shelter that day and promised to clean me up and find me a family that would love me forever. I am loving life in my foster home right now and cannot wait to find my happily ever after with humans who will take good care of me! I live with a senior chihuahua and we get along swimmingly. Our favorite game is to play hide and seek with our food bowls and toys. Toys are so much fun, and I love to keep myself entertained by playing with them in my bed then burying them under the blanket when I am all done. I get attached quickly to my people, and love to snuggle with my foster mom every chance I get!

I have pretty good house manners, as well. I am mostly potty trained; I have had a couple marking accidents but gently reminding me no and keeping me on a consistent potty schedule helps! I am also not destructive and don't chew on anything (other than my beloved toys, of course!) I am a pretty calm chap, but do bark excitedly so I would probably do better in a single-family home instead of an apartment or townhouse. I am lucky because my foster mamma is retired and home with me most of the time, but I am content to curl up in my bed and nap when she goes out for errands. I am a mature gentleman and more than anything, I just want a comfy bed, lots of fun toys, and humans who will truly love me for all time. *Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border
*Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household
*Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)
*Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date)
*Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation
*Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
