My name is Midnight, and my friends here at NHS say I'm really special -- I've come a long way and now I'm ready for the forever home I've always dreamed of. I'm a former resident of the Okefenokee Animal Shelter, which had to shut down more than a year ago. I was the very last dog there and I was scheduled to be euthanized, but the kind people at NHS saw my potential to be a good dog and took me in. I've been here for about 16 months now, and a really nice staff member here has been working with me. Watch my video and Nate will tell you all about me! Just listen to what I can do now: I know the commands "touch," "down," "sit," "come," "drop" and "off," plus how to go out and in. I walk well on my leash now, and even know how to "heel." I'm a loving leaner who will gently lean in on you to soak up all the affection I can get. Toys are my favorites; that, and water! I love to chase balls and I love to swim and splash around. I prefer to do my business outside. I need a home with no cats and also or small children, because I tend to guard the people I care about. If you already have a dog, please bring your friend over to meet me. I'm about 3 years old, with a black and white coat and a great smile. A secret admirer of mine has already paid my adoption fee and I'm neutered, microchipped and up to date on my vaccinations. If you're a dog lover who can give me love and attention, I promise to give you the same -- plus the wonderful feeling of knowing that you saved my life. Please watch my video, then come see me soon!
