Meet Micah
Micah is approximately 7.5 years old and 80 lbs. Micah has had a hard beginning with very little training or socialization. He needs a home that will patiently help him to learn to trust. He is finally starting to relax in his foster home. He would do best in a home with another dog for company and to help him with learn confidence. He likes to play for a short time with another dog,but would probably prefer a more laid-back canine partner. He loves to go for walks, enjoys exploring outside, and sit and lay at your feet. He is housetrained and well behaved in the house. His foster mom says he is a sweet, gentle soul. Do you have the love and patience he needs?
This dog is available to pre-adopt. That means the adopter must be local enough to Fenton to be willing and able to bring the dog back for his/her vet appointments as scheduled by our veterinarian until cleared by our veterinarian.
The adoption fee of $175 includes the spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo combination vaccine, bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea preventative, and a microchip.
Please contact jz2jaz@gmail.com for more information or to set up an appointment. Include in your email what you are looking for in a canine companion along with a little about your family and how you plan to train and exercise your new pup. Please do NOT call our center. This will help us match you and the animal the best we can.
Often there is very little known about our dogs' and puppies' history or even current habits. We are best guessing on breed blends. We can't guarantee there is or isn't a specific breed in their breed blend.
You can always expect to do training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. Expect a 10+ year financial, physical, and emotional commitment to this canine. We provide a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this. All dogs and especially puppies are a lot of work and a long financial commitment. Please research what it means to have a dog and make sure a dog is still going to be an important part of your life in 10-15 years. All dogs and puppies need a lot of patience and guidance.
Most dogs who are in shelters will need an adjustment period after adoption. No matter how nice our shelter is and how much attention they get from our volunteers, it is not a home and they will need time to acclimate and get rid of some nervous energy.
