MEET MIA!

This sweet 12 year old Pekingese mix is named Mia! Mia was surrendered to the rescue after one owner passed away and the other couldn't physically care for her. Mia had gone for some time without routine veterinary care so it took us a little while to get her caught up, but she's now feeling a world better and is ready to land the perfect home for her twilight years!

Mia's absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with her humans! She loves a good snuggle session and will take up the opportunity as often as possible! She'd be an amazing companion for someone looking for an office buddy or who just wants a little companion to pal around the house with. Her second favorite thing is eating (cause, same)! She's always down for a snack and never misses a meal. At her age, she's basically a super cute couch potato but she also does love a good stroll around the yard. She's not big on long walks around the neighborhood but would be down to ride in the stroller instead! Mia is mostly blind at this point though she can see general shapes and shadows. Once she's familiar with a space, she has no issues navigating her surroundings! Because she can't see too well, we think she'd do best in a home without small children. Mia has lived with small dogs her entire life and is now in foster care with other dogs and cats as well! She doesn't mind sharing her space with them in the slightest but she's also not afraid to tell another dog when they're being too pushy or annoying.

Mia has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue. She was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and is now on a daily medication (Vetoryl, approx. $50/mo) which helps manage the condition and keep her feeling good. She will need semi-annual rechecks with a vet. She also takes a liver support supplement (Hepatosupport, appox $10/mo) and melatonin which helps with a touch of separation anxiety ($5/mo). Mia recently had a full dental cleaning with extractions so she's feeling great!
