Merle and his siblings' story is unfortunately all too common in South Mississippi: They are mixed with some kind of pit bull and their mom was unfixed and unfortunately they were unwanted by their owners. Thankfully they were surrendered to our shelter, but not until they were already adults with no socialization, no training, and no idea what a true loving family is.

Merle has come a long way from having to be carried from his kennel to the yard for potty breaks. He is still hesitant, but with coaxing and patience he follows along. He loves being with other dogs and would do best in a home with other confident, but not overbearing dogs that can show him all the good things that people can offer.

Merle's $350 adoption fee includes neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. If we do not transport to your area we may know someone that does. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!
