Mercedes-I2038 German Shepherd Dog Anoka, MN

10.21.20 This is Mercedes. She is looking for her forever home. She is a beautiful German Shepherd around 10 years old. She seems to have some vision impairment, but it doesn't slow her down. She is otherwise healthy with no known medical issues. She is such a sweetheart, a true "velcro" pup that wants to be by your side! She is good with kids, cats and smaller dogs (although she would likely prefer to be the only dog so she can be queen of all the pets and belly rubs). It seems that she is afraid/nervous around bigger dogs. She is GREAT on a leash and loves to go for walks. She is very low maintenance and doesn't bark. She also sometimes barks at men and is standoffish.

Mercedes comes to rescue as a stray in TX. 9.13.20 She is located in MN at this time in a foster home. Because of her cataracts it is recommend she be an only dog. She is choosy about which dogs she wants to be around and is bossy with toys. She has snapped and growled at other dogs. She would like a quiet home but enjoys going on 1 mile walks at least 2 x a day. She is still very agile and has no medical issues at this time. A very sweet, elderly senior Shepherd that is deserving of her own family.

8.24.20 Update: She has gained weight, enjoys being in a fenced yard.

She has what appear to be cataracts in both eyes. Left side is a bit worse than the right. She walks very nicely on a leash, but it is better if you are on her right side as she keeps checking to see if you are still there.
She is active when in the yard, intrigued by the squirrels in the trees, but otherwise content to just hang out.
She can jump up and off of my bed.

We saved her from being euthanized because she is a senior in very bad shape. Extremely emaciated, some movement issues, possible hearing and vision loss too. HER DOB is 6.23.10. and her adoption fee is $100.00. She is sweet, gentle and is deserving of a place to lay her old tired bones and head for the remaining years she has left. She is quiet gentle. She will be coming to MN soon.

We do not allow our dogs to live outside but they are required to live in the home. You may not tie, tether or chain them outside. This dog does not require much exercise to give her quality of life.
