Meet Melody – the forever puppy with a heart full of love!
Melody is a 2-year-old pit mix who weighs just 37 pounds, but don’t let her age fool you—this petite sweetheart still looks and acts like a puppy! With her soulful eyes (one of them has a splash of blue!), gorgeous coat, and joyful spirit, she’s as stunning as she is sweet.
Melody’s journey started in a rough place—she was found tied to a pole with another dog and ended up at Aurora Animal Care and Control. But despite her past, she’s remained full of love and resilience. Her foster family affectionately calls her Melody Jane, and they swear she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Everyone who meets her falls head over heels in love!
She adores belly rubs, giving hugs, and snuggling with her foster family (human and canine alike!). Her first instinct when she sees another dog is to play, but she’s still learning to share things around the house with other dogs so she’d be best as the only dog in the home.
She knows how to “sit,” takes treats gently, and has never had a single accident in her foster home. Melody is crate trained and does wonderfully when left alone—though she’s just as content sleeping outside the crate at night. Sometimes she’ll even put herself to bed in her crate because she enjoys it that much!
Melody is a quiet little lady who rarely barks, and when she does, it’s usually just a soft “whisper bark” to say hello or let you know a squirrel is nearby. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but her gentle demeanor makes us believe she’d do well with them. We’re not sure how she’d do with cats.
Melody is the total package: beautiful, gentle, playful, and cuddly. She’s a low-maintenance lovebug just waiting for her forever family. Could that be you?
