Meet Meko

Well, here I am at the shelter. I lived a long time with my family and I was loyal and loving, but they let me down. They dumped me when I got a little older. And it hurt. Big time.

So I'm getting used to the new life here at the shelter. It can be noisy but I try to ignore it. It can be boring but that's okay; it's safe anyway. It can be lonely.

Yes, I'm a little lonely. Maybe more than a little.

Okay, it's just temporary, I keep telling myself. Someday a nice family will drive up to the shelter and walk in the door and say, "We want to meet Meko, the pretty one." They will say, "We want a nice older dog who won't cause a ruckus around the house." They will say, "We want a dog with a lot of soul and her picture is telling us that she is very special."

So I'm dreaming about this nice family every day. [s i g h]
