Meeko Summary:
Meeko is a 10-week-old male Great Pyrenees mix. Meeko has gained a lot of confidence and trust. He has blossomed into a loving, playful, happy puppy! He still needs more socializing and hopes his new family is excited to see him grow even more. He has big beautiful eyes. Sometimes he looks like a precious moments doll. He loves to snuggle up after he has played and take a nap with his people. He likes to chase balls and bugs. He really likes a good bone to chew too. He is a really sweet puppy! He is ready to have somewhere to call home

Meeko’s ideal home would have loving people that want to show him the world is fun and safe. He has gone from terrified of humans to giving kisses and cuddles and meeting strangers with a nice tail wag! His ideal home would maybe have another playful dog that can help him gain even more confidence. Older kids would be nice, ones that don’t mind his puppy mouthiness as much. He would love to be with someone who maybe works from home or can be home a lot.

Meeko is a puppy who deserves everything but has been through hell the first few weeks of his life. Meeko did not grow up in a loving home. Meeko didn't get to be a happy-go-lucky puppy. Instead, he lived the life of a stray with his mom and two siblings. A tragic event changed all that. His mom ended up being hit by a car and passed away. A good samaritan saw what happened and ended up taking the puppies in and reaching out to us. Meeko came to us skin and bones, this poor puppy was emaciated. He also had a skin infection going on that caused his coat to start thinning out. He was also being eaten alive by fleas and ticks to the point that his gums had gone pale. This was Meeko's life before coming to us. A puppy that should have been loved and spoiled has had next to no love in his life and was so scared of people.

Meeko is now on the road to recovery and gaining more confidence. This big-eyed boy is learning to trust people and is acting more and more like a puppy should each day. He is starting to play, he is starting to ask for pets, he is starting to gain weight, and he is starting to let his guard down. You can already tell that Meeko is going to be one amazing guy. He may have had a harsh puppy hood but he is now learning to open up and is going to be one heck of a companion! ♥

Meeko's overall personality is quite playful. He didn't get to be a carefree puppy in the past so he is living it up now! He loves to play with toys, he loves to chase toys, and does a great job of entertaining himself. Meeko is doing really well with his leash training and seems to enjoy going for walks. We do feel that he would enjoy going for hikes with his new family. He just has that playful and curious personality that makes us think he would love it. We can just see him running ahead of the trail, sniffing everything and just taking everything in! Meeko does like checking out water puddles but so far has not gotten messy in them. So, it is hard to say if he would enjoy swimming or not. Meeko does well on car rides, but they are still new to him. He really appreciates some pets/lovings or even just having your hand close to him for reassurance.

Meeko had next to no socialization growing up so he has had a lot of "firsts" lately. He was pretty shy when meeting the dogs in his foster home but now that he has settled in and knows that no one will hurt him he is doing great with them. He is a pup who will need a slow introduction to his family's current dogs and then continued socialization with dogs outside the home. Meeko is not being fostered around any cats so it is hard to say for sure how he would do. Given his age, we feel he would do fine with a proper introduction. Meeko has been around kids 3&5 years old and has done well with them. Meeko is a bit unsure when out in public, but does wag his tail at new people. He does enjoy having visitors over and will run up to them and say hi. Meeko has good manners when meeting people and doesn't jump on them.

Meeko is doing great with potty training and is good about pottying outside only. He doesn't let you know when he has to go though, so a strict routine is important for him. Meeko is kennel trained. He does do your normal puppy chewing so his new family should have the home puppy-proofed. He does love chewing on bones. Meeko isn't a fan of being left alone and will initially bark if left alone. He will also bark if he sees something that startles him. We do not feel that Meeko would be a good fit for apartment living. He can be vocal initially when left alone.

Meeko would love another dog in his new home to help him build confidence and for companionship. However, if his new family were home a lot and had the means to continue socializing him around other dogs and outside the home he would also flourish as an only dog.

Meeko will be ready to go home after June 27th. If you would love to continue showing this boy the good life and give him his happily ever after you can apply to adopt him at

Once you have submitted your application, it will be sent on to his foster family for consideration.

He is being fostered in Edmond, OK.
While we do adopt out of state, you would be responsible for picking your new dog up. We do not send our dogs on transport. This way you and your new fur baby can already begin the bonding process on the way back home, and it limits the stress on the dog.

His adoption fee is $300.
That will include two sets of puppy shots and wormings. He will also have had a bordetella. He will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
