McMuffin’s Top 10 Philosophies for a Good Life
10) There’s no such thing as strangers, only friends I haven’t met yet. (They all love me)
9) There is no such thing as bad food.
8) Why walk anywhere when you can skip everywhere?
7) Love comes in 2 forms, food & belly rubs.
6) Possessions are important: All the toys are mine, all of the slippers are mine, a chunk of the socks are mine (pairs not required), some of the shoes are mine, oh and all of the attention is mine; I’ll try and keep you posted on anything else.
5) Why do anything ½ way when you can do it at top speed with all of your body weight behind it?
4) Everything is a joyful event and we should celebrate it all!!!
3) Watching over your humans is VERY important, especially in the kitchen and the bathroom (they do weird things in there)
2) There is no such thing as bad food. (Yes it’s there twice ON PURPOSE!)
1) Here, hold my beer!
The hilarious McMuffin-the-Trash Panda is an extremely rare mix; part Australian Cattle Dog and part cartoon. He’s got a high-medium energy level is roughly 5 years old, neutered, chipped and UTD on shots. Picked up as a stray in Georgia (possibly escaped from the 100 Acre Woods) McMuffin is the happy, dancing, polar-opposite of Eeyore. He’s on the heavy side for his height, currently at 35 lbs. and losing, he needs to shed another 5 or 6 lbs. to reach a healthy weight. At the local shelter in Georgia he tested positive for heartworms. He was pulled by the ACDRA, brought into foster care and began preliminary HW treatment. He was tested again before receiving the injections to destroy adult heartworms and he tested negative! This negative test was confirmed twice more. The vet says the original test was either the result of a false positive or an extremely low worm burden. Either way, McMuffin-the-Trash-Panda is heartworm free and ready to find his furever home!

McMuffin is adorable and hilarious and has more than enough charm to counter the chaos he brings. He is absolutely comical, enthusiastically affectionate, completely joyful and no matter what’s on the agenda, he’s all-in! McMuffin celebrates life, he loves adventures, his humans and food!!! If you want an interactive dog that loves to laugh with you even when you are laughing at him, McMuffin-the-Trash-Panda may be your “best-dog-ever”.
McMuffin is extremely food motivated and introducing food during training gets him so excited he can hardly think. He’s probably a great candidate for clicker training. He currently knows Sit, Lay Down, Paw, Show-me-your-belly, Wait, and Leave-it (though Leave-it does not work so well when it’s food you want him to leave). He walks pretty well on a leash and is mostly house broken. He is learning to “Ring-the-Bell” to go outside but he hasn’t completely figured it out yet. With proper introductions, McMuffin is usually very good with other dogs. While he and his foster siblings all adore each other and play beautifully together, McMuffin may get snappy and ugly with strange dogs if allowed to freely approach. This seems to be especially true with very friendly and playful dogs. He likes cats and even wants to be friends, but his play can be unintentionally rough; a dog-savvy cat should do fine.

McMuffin is still working on some basic manners and understanding personal space. He no longer hurls himself across the room at top speed to launch into my lap uninvited, (he knocked me and the recliner over at least once—hence the Kamikaze Bowling Ball) but he doesn’t always wait for an invitation before invading personal space or bum rushing an open door—but we have add significant progress but not reached perfection! His new family will need to continue working patiently with him. McMuffin LOVES to give kisses; if you’re on his level you are fair game. For those reasons, I do not recommend him for a family with small kids, but he would be fine with an older child in the house.
