Well, howdy y'all! Let me introduce myself-my name is Mr. Mays and I’m from deep East Texas. I was raised to be a proper gentleman. I’ve never had an accident inside. I’m easy going, gentle, very sweet, and I love cuddles and being pet. I’m not quite sure what happened to my first humans, but the new humans I’m with have been giving me lots of attention, love, walks and plenty of places to take naps. I LOVE NAPS! I may have a couple miles on these paws of mine, but they still have plenty of tread left.


When these new people came to get me, I hadn’t been able to run around very much. But over the past few weeks, my strength has returned, and I love to take a run (though short) a few times a day. I’m no longer a pup, so my runs aren’t very long, but boy, let me tell you, it feels good.


I don’t see too well these days, so I’d love to have a fully fenced yard. No pool and no steps if possible. I like to have things around the house stay in the same place so I can find my way around easier, and I need my food and water to stay in the same place, but my nose does a good job of finding food. Because of my eyes, I’d prefer to not have any tiny people in my house. I’d hate to accidentally knock them over. However, I’ve done great with the small humans in my new house. I even let them take me for walks. These humans keep using a rope hooked onto my collar. At first, I didn’t know how to deal with that, but I’m getting pretty good at it now.


These new humans have plenty of other animals at the farm. They have chickens, guineas, cats and other dogs, but they don’t bother me one bit. I really enjoy just being around my humans when I’m not napping. Did I tell you I LOVE NAPPING?


The only things that bother me much are sudden loud noises (I can’t see what’s happening) and occasionally things will startle me when I’m sleeping (cats running by).


I really look forward to finding my forever humans. I can’t wait to get belly rubs, a fenced in yard to enjoy, and plenty of napping spots. I’m alright with being left inside while you’re out and about. Don’t worry, I’ll just be napping. I may be a giant, but I sure am gentle.
