Love German Shepherds, but don’t want to run 17 miles a day to burn off their energy? Maya is the girl for you!
Maya is a beautiful, 5-6 year old GSD, but because of the trauma in her past, she has a personality that is atypical for her breed. Maya is very shy and timid, and is wary of people she doesn’t know. She needs a calm, quiet, patient home.
This pretty girl is house trained, crate trained and walks very gently on a leash. She does fine with the other dogs in her foster home, but she’s not into playing or rough housing. Respect the personal bubble! We are not sure how she does with cats. Maya needs a home without young children, as they scare her. She enjoys a nice walk every day, but does not require as much exercise as most shepherds.
Maya is a very sweet girl, but whoever adopts her needs to be prepared for the bonding process to take much longer than it would for most dogs. It will take time for her to trust new people. Until she does bond with her family, Maya will be a flight risk, so she’ll need a tall, secure fence and should wear a safe harness and leash at all times.
