Maya Siberian Husky Yorkville, IL

Maya is an approximately 1.5 year old Husky who at her optimal body condition weighs about 35 lbs. She is a petite but active girl who just finished recovering from a csection and raising two babies. She is on the thin side now from nursing so will need to stay on puppy food until she is back up to her optimal weight. Maya is an ACTIVE dog who sheds A LOT! As Huskys do. She gets along great with other dogs typically and plays nicely with those who will play with her but is scrappy and will not work with another dog who is very bossy/dominant as she will defend herself if a fight is started. She is fine with cats in the house but might pester them so dog savvy cats who still have all of their claws intact would be preferred as housemates for this girl. She does great with the 4 and 8 year old human children in her foster home. She will NOT be a candidate for off leash work, as she has a high prey drive outdoors and no recall (she is a Husky). Please only apply if you are willing to keep her safe by keeping her properly contained. Maya would love a Husky experienced home or an active family who is willing to work with her on training and keep her exercised and happy.
