Meet Maxx

So, so, sweet is this gentle old man. Maxx was found as a stray, wandering aimlessly in the streets of Phoenix. He ended up at or county shelter and his prognosis of being rescued had timed out. It was at that time when we became aware of Maxx and we took him under our wings. We knew Maxx was an old man but were were taken aback by just how much he was sufferings medically. Maxx had two GIGANTIC tumors on his penis. They were infected and bleed often. He also had a bronchitis and tested positive for tick fever.....oh.....and his eyes. He is virtually blind in one eye and has partial vision out of the other. Words can not express how wonderful it is to see Maxx feel better and finally beginning to live his life. The bronchitis and tick fever is in the past and he has recovered beautifully from his surgery...he had two major surgeries. Maxx is a new kid!! We are able to walk him (his favorite thing to do) about 40 minutes a day. He loves all people he meets and is totally indifferent to other dogs, however he will need to go to cat-free home and we feekl strongly that he would be most happy as an only pet. It is as though Maxx lived on a concrete slab his whole life, outside alone. He is so grateful for what he has now. Maxx loves tennis ball too! He will walk around with one in his mouth and chase one down! Just feeling well has brought him back to life. We love Maxx and are really to find him a home that will tend to his needs and let him live out his remaining time so, so spoiled. If you are interested in adoption Maxx ($100 donation), Maxx will need daily care for his eyes and a watchful eye on his skin condition. please take a moment to fill out an application. All adoptions start with an application, https://www.povertyspets.org/adoption-form. Once received, you will be contacted within 48-72 hours. Thank you!
