Meet Maxx

Maxx - assessment hold - available to an experienced home
Maxx is a mature (6 years old) adult neutered male border collie in need of a quiet, patient, understanding home that is interested in involving their new friend in their lives.
Maxx is accustomed to walking with one of his humans, and trail running with the other. While he is not high energy, he definitely needs an outlet and would enjoy running or hiking in nature.
We have found Maxx to be somewhat unsure of his 'place' -- since he is outside of his familiar element, he is a little bit 'Sheldon'.
Maxx will do best in a quiet, adult centric home, with or without another quiet pooch to call friend. He is fine with dogs here, but does not seem to seek out or rely on other dogs for confidence.
Maxx will do best in a quiet community, urban life may be too much for him. That said, a quiet community within an urban area, may be fine with an experienced human to help him adjust.
Maxx is well crate trained, walks nicely on leash, had excellent recall in his previous home, and was housebroken and loving with his previous family.
Maxx weighs about 48lbs, and is located in Maryland. He is currently available to an experienced home. For information on adoption through MABCR, please see our website at mabcr.org.

PLEASE READ our procedures for adoption prior to making inquiry regarding this dog. If you are looking for additional photos, video, or information on this dog, you will likely find that by searching our facebook page for their photo/description album.
.
Please see our main website at www.mabcr.org for more information regarding the adoption of this or any dog from our rescue.
.
Please note that while this dog is currently available, any dog on our site may have an adoption pending and may not be available to you at this time. The same dog may later become available if the adoption falls through.
.
Our website www.mabcr.org will give you details on our adoption procedures as well as an application for adoption. An application must be submitted prior to 'matching' an adopter with a dog as all dogs do not fit into all homes. We pride ourselves in our adoption process, we take the time to get to know our adopters so that we can place a dog with them that they can enjoy for years to come.
.
Please understand that we will not discuss dogs with individual adopters until after the application process is completed.
.
Our rescue does not have a public facility, therefore there are no visiting hours. Appointments to visit with the available dogs are made after the application process has been completed by our staff.
.
To assist any dog within the MABCR organization, please consider making a donation to the general fund or to the medical fund. All dogs coming into our rescue are fully vetted (s/n and core vaccines) prior to adoption.
.
Rescuing animals is quite expensive. If you are unable to adopt, but would like to help this, or any other animal in our system, please consider a sponsorship donation.
For information on our sponsorship program, please contact Sarah at SLR@mabcr.org.
.
Thank you for your interest in Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue.
