Meet Maximus

Today I am sending out a plea with the hope of finding a forever home for Maximus (aka Max), a very eligible, tall, dark and handsome young man in his early 20’s (the vet who neutered, vaccinated and treated Max for heartworms a couple of months ago estimated that Max is about three years old).
Max was rescued by Col. Stan Horton (Retired USMC), animal lover and rescuer this past March in a not so nice neighborhood in the Alief area of Houston where Max had been dumped by his former owners.  I am the one who took the pictures of Max and I  think that he may be a Weimaraner/Staffie mix who has a real zest for life and is full of energy. Max has a beautiful coat that has recovered nicely from the condition it was in when he was rescued by Col. Stan back in March.
Unfortunately, the wonderful couple who has been fostering Max since he was rescued will be moving soon, and must find homes for Max and others before moving. So Max needs to find another foster home (Col. Stan’s wife has already told him not to even think about bringing another Dog home to foster) or even better a forever home where he will be an integral part of the family.
According to Col. Stan, Max loves people and gets along great with his two other foster dogs. Max may be a little shy at first with both dogs and people but then really opens up once he gets to know that person/persons or dog/dogs and loves to run and play.
Col. Stan is not too sure about how well Max gets along with cats since he has never really been exposed to cats since being rescued.
If you think you know someone that can give Max the forever home that he deserves, please have them contact Col. Stan Horton at  832-722-7150 or via email at
