Hi….I’m Maximo. I'm a one-year-old Dachshund weighing about 18lbs. I am a sweet boy that will require an experienced dog (preferably Dachshund) owner willing to seek professional training for me. I tend to not want to share things and need to be corrected immediately when doing something I shouldn’t. I would do best in an adult only home with a fenced yard and a structured environment that allows for plenty of mental stimulation and exercise. I am potty trained as long as you take me outside on a normal schedule. I am leash trained. I do love to bark and am very alert to strange sounds and voices. Like a typical Dachshund, I will destroy any toy within minutes. Once I know and trust you, I am very affectionate and love to give kisses and get pets. I am friendly with the other dogs in my foster home as long as there are no toys or food involved. My reaction to cats is unknown. I do need a patient, dog savvy owner who understands the importance of setting consistent limits, rules and boundaries. If you are willing to give me a chance, apply today. My adoption fee is $400.

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
