Meet Max Sr-I1911

Spring 2020 update. Max Sr injured a leg last summer when going to someone's home. He fell down a set of 13 stairs and then taken on a couple mile walk. He has limped ever since. Most recently someone played ball with him until he could no longer do that and tried to walk him as a test for an adoption. He is an older dog with an injury and dogs do not know when to stop or when it is too much activity. He is a sweet dog that just wants to be loved and have a place to lay his head and tired body. He is a big boy at 94 #. Max Sr is all vetted, UTD on vaccines and ready for a new home. Only serious folks who understand a Sr Special needs dog will be considered. No stairs or only a few will be his new home. He requires very little exercise but must live indoors. He is on some joint supplements too.

Max Sr, March 30, 2019 update. He has attended a workshop for German Shepherds. Max Sr was calm, relaxed and did all that was asked of him. He does not act out towards other dogs and allowed everyone to pet him. He was totally calm and relaxed around 20 other German Shepherds. He would make an awesome therapy dog. He can be an only dog or be matched with a mild mannered female. His adoption fee is $200.00.

Max Sr was an owner surrender for chasing cattle on the farm property that he lived adjacent to. He is quite the gentle giant. He is very smart and obedient. His DOB is 1.25.13. He is vaccinated, neutered and has a microchip. He was transported from KY to MN and every person that met him said how gentle he was.

He weighed in around 96#. He is friendly and seems to get along with most other dogs. We do not recommend very small children like toddlers because of his size and he is not gentle when taking treats from the hand. He has a slight limp in his one back leg from a fall down some stairs in a home. He needs obedience training.

We do not allow our dogs to live outside, be tied or tethered. Since they are herding breeds, underground electronic fence systems do not keep the dogs safe or keep anyone or anything from entering the enclosed area. If you are serious about an application, go to www.faerielandrescue.org on the home page.
