Max's Story

Max, 2 years old, neutered male, Shepherd mix, 50 lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport to an approved adopter.

Max is very dog friendly and gets along great with his two foster siblings. He enjoys playing and would be a good match for an energetic dog in the home. We also recommend slow transitions with resident dogs.

Max has spurts of energy, but for the most part is calm in the house. He is more excited in the morning when he first wakes up and is eager to go outside.

He is house broken and will go in a kennel without issues. He is left unsupervised in the house when his foster's are away without any issues.

He could use more training on leash as he tends to zig zag back and forth. He walks better in a harness. He often wants to say hi to dogs he is passing by (in a very friendly manner).

Max could also use some continued support with basic manners and obedience. He is learning to sit and stay.

Max is always smiling when he is hanging out with his people. He is on the low/moderate scale in terms of energy.

He has not been around kids. We recommend a home with kids 12 years and older.
No cats

**Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Interested in meeting Max or applying to adopt him?
