Max is a sweet, loving Border Collie mix who has had quite a journey so far, and now he's looking for a family who will give him the forever home he deserves. Rescued from a service member who was medically retiring, Max couldn’t accompany his family, but his resilience and loving nature shine through despite the challenges he's faced.
A Little About Max:
Max is around 3 years old and full of energy and affection. He has quickly become a beloved member of our family, especially with my 4-year-old, who Max is wonderful with. He’s also very attached to my spouse, following them around the house wherever they go. He loves our dog, too. Max is a companion who will always be there for you—whether you’re playing or relaxing.
His Quirks & Hobbies:
Max does have a few quirks, and that’s part of what makes him so special. He’s developed a habit of barking outside, which can be a good thing if you need a dog who’ll alert you to unwanted visitors or potential dangers. Max is also known for catching and even killing rodents—something he picked up from his previous home. While this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s a big plus if you have a yard and want some natural pest control!
When he's not on high alert, Max loves cuddling on the bed or the couch. He's an affectionate dog who will happily snuggle up with you, making him the perfect companion for anyone who loves a dog that shows love and loyalty. He also loves to play, especially his favorite game of tug-of-war. Max is great at fetching the ball, though sometimes he can get a bit overwhelmed by too much going on, preferring to focus on his games in peace.
Training and Progress:
Max is smart and eager to please. He knows basic commands like "sit," and we’re working on teaching him more, including "lay down." With patience and some consistent training, we’re confident that Max will continue to improve and learn even more tricks. He’s very receptive to positive reinforcement and would thrive in a home that provides guidance and consistency.
