Meet Max

Max is a 4 year old Poodle mix that weighs 12 lbs. He joined the rescue when his owners were no longer able to care for him.

Max is a laid back guy that likes to take it easy. He likes to nap on top of the couch watching out the window as if he’s guarding the home from the Amazon driver. He’s shown no interest in toys in his foster home but break out the treats & he puts on a show. He goes crazy just seeing a treat bag so save your money on toys and just buy more treats.

If you work from home he’ll lay in your lap keeping you warm during the cold but he’s not pushy he’s just a content laying in a dog bed near you or his duty post aka the couch watching for Amazon.
Did I mention how much he likes treats. He even will sit nice & pretty for a treat. He also likes chew sticks, back scratches and being with his family. He is a little shy when he first meets new people but he does warm up to them. His previous home had kids and said he was good with their children but his foster home has no kids to confirm. Same goes for cats his previous home said he was good with cats but his foster home does not have cats to test him with.

He gets along with other dogs. He does not like hyper dogs at all he prefers calmer dogs that like to keep more to themselves. He does not like sharing his food bowl with other dogs. He’d make an excellent addition to a home with other calm mature adult dogs or do great as an only dog. A secure fenced yard is required.

He is crate trained & happy to be in there while your way but if you are home and he’s crated he’s vocal about it. If he’s left uncrated while away he is not destructive. He’s a little afraid of the leash & does not do well with a leash attached to his collar. He is a harness kind of dog. He’s doing very well on his potty training with very few accidents inside. He is currently sleeping on a bench in front of his foster parents bed.

Max is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative, current on HW preventative and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $200.
