-Can Live with Kids: No, Max needs an adult-only home. See below for further information.
-Can Live with Cats: Max lived with cats in his previous home but it's a little unclear how well they interacted with each other. When asked how Max responded to living with cats, his owner stated: "lived inside together, played with each other, scared of, fought with, chased." He will need a very slow, supervised intro to any feline housemates to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, pending introduction here at WHS
-Can do Apartment Living: Yes, with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Adopters should use caution if their apartment has tight hallways/other small spaces, as Max can be a little weary of strangers.
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No, Max has never bit and broke skin. However, his previous owner mentioned he has snapped when taking away a bone. Any potential adopters should use caution around high value resources, and be sure they are reading and respecting Max's body language and signals.
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, at least one private lesson.
-Energy Level: Low/med

-Additional Information: This big beefcake is MAX and he's on the lookout for a new workout buddy! Max currently weighs in at a whopping 116lbs and desperately needs a dedicated diet/exercise regimen to help him slim down a bit so he can look and feel his best. He is a little sensitive to some handling, which may be due to all the strain on his joints from his excess lbs. Common to his breed, we believe he may have some allergies, and may need a special limited ingredient diet to avoid red, itchy skin. Max is a bit of a shy boy at first, but warms up quickly and leans into you for pets. He LOVES to play and will go absolutely bonkers for a squeaky tennis ball. We have observed some potential for resource guarding behaviors (he can at times love his toys a little TOO much and can become possessive over them)-- his previous owner also said Max snapped at them when trying to take away a bone. His previous owner also said that Max was easily overwhelmed by the young kids in the home and there were a few instances where he growled during play. For this reason, Max needs an adult-only home who can read/respect his body language and give him space when he needs it.
