Meet Max

Max has had surgery to remove an abscess from his face and is doing very well in recovery. He is no longer in a cone and is acting like the puppy that he is - happy, playful, snuggly and goofy. He is even more enthusiastic about going for walks, just not really long ones….

Max has a series of anti-biotics to take for a while longer, which will be provided with him when he goes to his forever home. He is very cooperative about taking them with a teaspoon of peanut butter (he is pretty funny when taking his pills, too). He is looking forward to hanging out with his humans and possibly a sizeable doggie sibling to roughhouse with.

Max is a lounger - a big, snuggly, affectionate one. His goal in life (at the age of 9 months) is to be a 45 pound lap dog. When he is cozy indoors and asked to go out, he sometimes runs to his foster’s cabinet and sticks his head underneath, acting as if he’s hiding.

This big baby really wants to hang out with his human, take an short stroll, visit the dog park every few days and nap. At his foster's home, he was quick to learn how to get up on the recliner and now, when asked to get off, he flips on his back and waves his paws around while whining about how comfortable and warm he is.

He is currently crate trained at night and does his business outside immediately after he wakes up. He is being trained to go potty outside every 3-4 hours during the day. This big guy is playful, happy and very much a puppy at heart. He is gentle with other dogs, smart about cats, and will be good in a home with children over the age of 12 due to his size.
Max is waiting for his forever home (and possibly a forever recliner or sofa) with you. Are you the one to make his dreams come true?

Max would need an experienced owner. No kids under 12,

Adoption Fee: $500
San Francisco Bay Area adoption only.

Adoption Process:
Once an adoption counselor receives and approves your application, they will contact you (only if you match the animal's needs) to set up an appointment to meet the dog you applied for and/or any of the other dogs in the rescue. If the dog you applied for is not a good match for your particular situation, there might be others that are better matches.

Adoption Fees:
Adoption fees allow WOOF Animal Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs while we look for their forever homes. The fees also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs that require longer stays in the rescue, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes.

WOOF Animal Rescue, in Fremont CA, does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots appropriate for their age, dewormed and microchipped.
