Maverick (courtesy post) Boxer Albany, NY

Maverick is roughly 2 1/2 years old and neutered. Maverick was transferred up from Alabama last January. We adopted him knowing that he required a lot of medical attention. He was rescued down south by a sheriffs department by warrant because Maverick and his brother were emaciated. They were near death from starvation. Maverick had mange and terrible worms. Maverick was treated and have recuperated very well. Even putting on nearly 30 pounds since adoption. Maverick is very playful and very responsive to treats and high praise. He knows commands like sit, stay, hear, beg, paw and speak but requires treats for him to respond. He is crate trained and would make a wonderful addition to family that has Boxer experience. He is very affectionate. Unfortunately he does not like other small animals like cats, chickens, goats, birds, squirrels or rabbits. He has a very high prey drive. Because of his aggression towards other small animals, we have never introduced them to other small canines. He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and no other animals. Maverick is great with children and loves attention. He is docile and very sweet.
