Maverick is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up!
Meet Maverick!
Maverick was picked up as a stray in Houston, TX and turned into a high kill shelter. He waited patiently, but a family never came for him. The shelter was overflowing and he landed himself on the euthanasia list due to lack of space.
Maverick is 2-3 years old and estimated to be a boxer / pitbull terrier mix. Maverick is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own! Maverick currently weighs 50 pounds.
Maverick is dog friendly and currently lives with 3 other dogs in his foster home. He loves running zoomies in the yard and playing with his doggie friends! Maverick would LOVE to have the company of another dog in his forever home, but that's not completely necessary.
Maverick has not been cat tested, but we would be happy to cat test him for any serious potential adopters with cats.
Maverick loves humans of all sizes and is so sweet towards everyone he meets!
Maverick is fully potty trained and walks great on a leash! He does get excited to go for walks, but will settle down and for the most part he stays right with his humans.
Maverick is crate trained and will happily go into his crate, but he's also great if left out to free roam!
Here's a small blurb about Maverick from his foster mom: Maverick has the funniest underbite and it's guaranteed to keep you smiling! He's such a character and loves nothing more than snuggling up next to you in bed or on the couch watching tv. He's great at events that we take him to and LOVES meeting new people! He's such a charmer!
If we were to describe Maverick's energy level, we would say it's moderate. He loves running and playing with his doggie friends in the yard, but in the evening, he's happy to just lounge on the couch and watch tv.
Maverick's perfect family would be one that has another dog to keep him company, but it's not a total deal breaker if you don't have another pup.
