Nickname: Reenie
1-year-old, 25-pound Hound mix

House-Trained: Yes - does well on a schedule.
Crate-Trained: Does not love being left alone but will rest / sit in crate if a comfy bed is in there.

Other Dogs: Yes – very social and playful.
Cats: Unknown.
Kids: Unknown.

Apartments: Reenie would not do well in an apartment because she is a talker. She likes to welcome you home with a howl and alert anyone of interesting things happening outside. She will also let you know when she is hungry, wants your attention, or sees anything interesting.

Fenced Yard: She would be fine with or without a fenced yard to play in – she does well with a long tie-out.

Reenie is a very sweet dog who loves scratches, belly rubs, daily walks, and cuddling. She is a people person, though she may be hesitant to interact with you at first. Once she is comfortable, she loves to be near you and has zero sense of personal space. If you let her, she will rest her head on your shoulder or nestle her head in the crook of your neck.

Reenie is a very social dog and enjoys being part of a pack. With other dogs she is super playful and enjoys cuddling them and being in their presence when not with a human. Having another dog in the home would be a huge plus for Reenie though she can be a little rough with dogs smaller than her.

Reenie loves the outdoors and on nice, warm days she loves to roll around on the grass and stretch out. She is still learning about leash manners but is getting better each day!

Reenie will be an amazing companion for anyone and is a true gem. She is still learning how to be a dog and will need love, patience, and training to help her thrive. While she does have a lot of anxiety and would not do well being alone for long periods of time, she does respond well to positive redirection and has done well with proper training, time, and consistency. Reenie still has a ways to go to overcome her traumatic past, but with a loving home, she will get there!


Her adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.
