Meet Matilda
Matilda is a 10 lb approximately 6 year old silky terrier mix who was found stray in California. She was discovered with an eye injury and needed surgery for a mammary mass, so we happily took her in.
Since we’ve had Matilda, she’s really come out of her shell. Initially very shy, she used to cower on a leash. Her foster family has worked hard on her confidence, and she loves walks now. Matilda is also affectionate and cuddly, and really enjoys being around her person.
Matilda is still working on potty training. We think her first home used potty pads, so always just going outside is new to her. But she’s working on it! She also doesn’t love the crate, and can cry when first put in it. A person who doesn’t work long hours with a thin walled apartment is likely best. Matilda is friendly with dogs but is not a fan of cats, so no felines in her new home.
Matilda has been spayed, the benign mammary mass removed and cured, and is microchipped. She is heartworm negative and current on her preventatives. She’s also just had a complete dental cleaning.
Matilda would love a home to continue to show her the ropes. Is it yours? Apply to adopt www.stumptownstrays.org
