My name is Matilda!

First, let's focus on why I am special needs, I am terrified of children! Before rescue, something happened and I cannot live in a home with small children or where small children frequent.

I love to chase birds in the yard, play fetch and be with my parents. I think I am a guard dog, I love to bark at everything outside of my yard, because It is my job to keep my yard safe! I go to the door and stand when I need to go potty. Sometimes I'm stubborn if I think I can get my way, but I know basic commands so I know what no, sit, stay and down means. If there are treats involved I'm always a good listener.

There are things I definitely don't like. I don't like to share my food or bones. I don't like all dogs, but I do like dogs that respect my personal space and give me some time to make sure they will be nice to me. I don't mind cats if they don't mind me.

I am approx. 5 yrs old and 65lbs.I am spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on my vaccinations. I am a unique dog that needs a unique owner, can that be you?

We are not a shelter, we are a rescue and all of our rescued pets live with a Tennessee foster family until their forever home is found. They are all checked by a veterinarian, current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered are micro-chipped. Our fosters know the animals best and will give you an honest assessment of their traits and training.
