Meet Marty
Marty is young and energetic and still acts more like a puppy than an adult. He's good in a crate and quiet in the car and he's made great strides in learning how to settle and be calm in the house. Appropriate toys help immensely with this! House training is progressing very well but he needs to be monitored and will need to learn where to go (and not to go) in any new environment. He is food and toy motivated (check out the photo of him during training!) and he has begun working on "sit," "down," "place," "come," "drop it," "leave it," "off," and overall impulse control. Training will need to be continued. While he is happy to be around any and all dogs, not all dogs are a good match for his energy level and style of play so an introduction is highly recommended before adoption into a home with other dogs. Marty needs some quiet time away from other dogs so he doesn't live in a constant state of mental and physical stimulation. Fortunately, he LOVES attention from humans so he's happy to spend one-on-one time with people, either being petted or playing fetch. He could easily live in an only-dog household. He's roughly 40 pounds so he's an awesome size (but strong!), and he has a lot of the qualities we all love in a Lab.
