Meet Martika ~ Adopted!

On February 3rd in Morgantown WV. an unwanted litter of puppies was born. They lived the first 6 weeks of their life with their mother and her family. Lucky for them thru a rescue contact S&L Animal Rescue was able to intervene and bring them to N.J. and place them in a loving foster home before their tiny paws ever hit the cold, lonely shelter floor.
Our rescue contact tells us that momma is a 30lb black and white beagle mix and could have had a little "rondevu" with a neighborhood schnauzer mix.
Judging by the looks of the puppies they could be mixed with anything from beagle, corgi, basset hound, cocker spaniel and possible a hint of schnauzer (in the case of one). They will most likely not be very large when full grown.
Since arriving in foster care on March 26th they have been nothing but sweet, cuddly, playful pups. They are looking forward to starting the next chapter in their life as being part of a fur-ever family.
Meet MARTIKA an itty bity tri colored little peanut with some scruff just starting to peak thru (this may be where the schnauzer comes in).
She is a pretty, sweet little girl that likes to be held and cuddled but also has a rowdy side that comes out every once in a while. She gets along well with all her litter mates and other humans and pets in her foster home. She is working on house training and knows how to go on paper but this will still be a work in progress. She loves toys but the ones that squeak seem to be her favorite.
If you are looking for a sweet little bundle of love, then Martika is exactly what you are looking for. To apply to make her a part of your home, please visit our site (endingthesadness.org).
As with all of the pups, they have never been on a leash before and will need training to be the perfect family pet. They will need consistency and someone present more often than not to help groom them to be social, have manners, and know the boundaries. If you have the time and the patience to devote to raising training a puppy, please feel free to fill out an application on our site for consideration (www.endingthesadness.org). We can adopt to those who live out of state, but for puppies we limit the drive time to a 2 hr radius only.
Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Unless otherwise indicated, puppies are NOT spayed or neutered since our vet recommends waiting until 6mos of age to do so. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. A reputable rescue will have nothing to hide and will answer ALL your questions!!! Please visit our Web Site to see all of the pets we have for adoption. Our site contains information about our adoption process and fees, our application, and answers to frequently asked questions. Please read it carefully before contacting us. If you are interested in adopting THIS wonderful pet, we strongly encourage you to complete our adoption application now. Once we receive and approve your application, we will notify you of approval. The first application to be received and approved will get 1st choice - be sure that your references are available and willing to speak with us. Thank You
Visit us at one of our next adoption days. Details are on our site under the How to Adopt tab.
Hope to see you there!
