Meet Marshmallow

Before reading the story of the dogs, we invite you to attend our upcoming adoption event on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the PetSmart in Fullerton, CA starting at 01:00 PM and ending at 06:00 PM or until all dogs get adopted. There will be a diverse number of dogs from different breeds available for adoption.

Marshmallow will be available at the event on a first-come-first-serve basis. We advise you to submit your adoption application at your earliest convenience. The event will also feature other adorable rescue dogs. We will not allow sign-ins without having an application on-file. So please have your application submitted before coming to the event.

Marshmallow and his siblings were rescued from Lucerne Valley, CA. A high school student reached out to us via to ask for help with sick puppies. Her mom's dog gave birth to an accidential litter. They decided to keep the puppies and take care of them. When they were around a month of age, they started acting slow and they were throwing worms. They were kept outside and the weather was windy and cold. The girl reached out to us to ask for help since her mother did not want to spend money and get the puppies checked.

The rescue responded to the request and sent a volunteer to pick up the dogs. The puppies were in a poor situation. They were skinny and they had massive worms. A fecal exam was done and contagious parasites were found in their stool. Medication was prescribed.

Unfortunately, the puppies were in a poor situation and they needed IV fluids and they were dehydrated and malnourished. They had to be put under intensive care while being treated from Parasites.

As the days progressed, the puppies felt better after getting rid of the parasites they had, they started to gain weight and eat better. Their skin and coat become healthy. Their activity level become better.

The rescue sent a volunteer back to the lady who had the puppies and asked her to take the mom to get her treated as well. The veterinarian has mentioned that it is most probably the mom who passed the parasites to her litter. The rescue then treated the mom from parasites, got her spayed on the expenses of the rescue and returned her back to the her owner.

During their stay at the rescue, they received up to date shots of vaccines. They have been dewormed, they have healthy firm stool and the fecal sample has shown negative results of all parasites (Non-seen).

Behavioral wise, the puppies are so playful. They are of a medium energy. They are cuddly and adorable. They are non-shedding and they are suitable for people who have allergies. The puppies are good with kids and good with other dogs. The puppies have never been around cats and we do not have any information on how they would react. They are young puppies and the rescue believes that they can be trained to work with cats.

The puppies are not of age to be spayed/neutered yet and the adopter must agree to enter an agreement with PetEmber to spay/neuter them when they become of age.

If you think that any of the puppies matches your criteria in a dog, please consider giving them a home.
