Marshall's Story
Meet Marshall, a 10-pound chihuahua with a spirit that’s as gentle as they come. Estimated to be around 10 years old, he’s had a hard life that makes him appear older than he is, but don’t let that fool you — this little guy has so much love left to give.

Found as a stray in Texas, Marshall came to us in heartbreaking condition. His nails had grown so long they curled into his paw pads, and he is likely completely blind due to advanced cataracts. He also has arthritis in his back and hind legs. Despite everything he’s been through, Marshall remains an incredibly sweet, trusting soul who just wants to feel safe and loved.

Because of his blindness and fear of navigating new spaces, Marshall prefers to stay within a small, familiar area. He’ll thrive with a patient adopter willing to create a cozy, predictable setup for him — a comfy bed close to his food and water so everything he needs is always within easy reach. Marshall is a mellow guy who enjoys just being by your side. He is currently in a foster home with other fellow senior pups and does great with them.

Marshall is fully housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go out by crying or softly barking. Due to his mobility and vision challenges, he will need someone who can gently carry him outside when it’s time for a potty break. If you have a soft spot for seniors and a heart big enough for a dog who needs a little extra understanding, Marshall is ready to give you all the love he has.

His adoption fee is $400 and Marshall is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will be having full dental work done soon. He was never neutered and the vet recommended not doing so at his age. He also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior program so if you’re 60 or older, you can adopt Marshall for $300.
