Meet Marley B

Marley B is new to Montreal. She arrived from Lebanon at the beginning of September. Marley is adorable. She is sweet and affectionate. She loves to be close to her person.

She is house trained and is patient with you in the morning to go out. The only thing she is not patient about is love... she wants your affection as soon as you're awake.

She is crate trained and can remain in the crate while you go to work. She can be destructive if not left in the crate. She's also great on walks and highly food motivated.

She can live in an apartment. She is relatively quiet but does bark when she hears people coming and going. She does run around a bit as well inside, so if your downstairs neighbour has a problem with the extra movement, she may not be the dog for you.

From what her foster has observed, Marley does not demonstrate any resource guarding.

Although Marley is very loving towards her people, she is reactive towards strangers. She growls, barks, lunges, chases. She does this with all strangers but more so with men and with children. She has been known to nip at certain strangers as well and has been known to break the skin a bit. Nothing dramatic, but enough that she needs to be constantly supervised when in public. She sends mixed signals at times - her tail will wag, she'll nudge someone's hand to be petted and then when they go to do so, she'll growl, bark and nip at them.

Marley demonstrates the same behaviour towards other dogs - particularly while on the leash. She is better at the dog park, but is also sometimes too reactive and must be removed from the other dogs.

All of these behaviours have improved since her arrival and will be a continual work in progress. Her adopters will need to consider hiring a professional in order to prevent her from being so reactive.

Marley's ideal adopter would be a single adult or a couple without children. Experience in dog training is a must.

If you think you've got what it takes to give Marley B a great life, hurry on over to and download our adoption form asap. Only people who send in the form will be considered.
