Marlee's Story
Meet Marlee!

At 5 years old and a perfectly huggable 45 lbs, Marlee has already lived through more than her fair share of ups and downs. Once on the euthanasia list at a rural shelter, her life changed the moment she came into our rescue. That’s when we discovered her little secret—Marlee is deaf. But it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She plays, cuddles, and loves just like any other dog—she just enjoys life without the background noise.

Because she can’t hear, she can get a bit jumpy around other dogs, so her ideal home is either as your one-and-only spoiled princess or with a calm, respectful dog who understands the meaning of personal space. Her real specialty? Being wherever you are—whether that’s curled up next to you, snuggled on the couch, or taking one of her famously deep, dream-filled naps (deaf dog naps are next level!).

Marlee is short, stocky, beautiful (those eyebrows!!!), and VERY treat-motivated. She’s got so much love to give and is ready to pour it into her forever family. “Special needs” only means she’s EXTRA special. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect, loyal, nap-loving companion, Marlee is ready to hear with her heart instead of her ears... and make every day brighter.

Keep reading to learn how to make her yours!
__________

Ready to adopt?

Start by filling out our online application at www.bit.ly/mu-adopt

Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone. Inquiries alone are not enough.

Transport & Vetting:

This dog is currently in South Mississippi and local adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport (adoption fee includes transport) to many states in the Northeast. (We cannot adopt to Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island due to strict import restrictions).

All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.

**We cannot guarantee breed mix or full grown size. The breeds selected are based on any known information and physical observations.

To see more of the furbabies we rescue and love, follow us on Facebook: Misfits & Underdogs (www.facebook.com/61575337895248)
